Hetero-grafting affects flavonoid biosynthesis in sweet orange 'Newhall' (Citrus sinensis) peels: a metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis

چکیده

Citrus cultivation involves the widespread practice of grafting, which has a significant impact on citrus development and fruit quality yield. However, understanding effect flavonoid compounds after different rootstock grafting have been limited. Flavonoid compounds, found at highest levels in peels, contribute to improving nutritional value. In this study, scion-rootstock interaction was investigated various developmental stages when sweet orange 'Newhall' hetero-grafted with two commonly used rootstocks ( Poncirus trifoliate population, C. junos Siebold ex Tanaka ). Physiological index detection showed higher concentration total content peels grafted population (ct) than (cj). Further metabolomic analysis identified 703 including flavones, flavonols, flavanones. Out 25 flavonoids affected by stages, most were flavones. Transcriptomic 8,562 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Co-expression Pearson's correlation discovered six hub structure 19 transcription factors (TFs) that biosynthesis. addition increasing transcript synthesize flavanones, also expression many TFs. Taken together, our findings suggested hetero-grafting could promote accumulation during stages. These results offered fresh perspectives grafting's application usefulness enhancement nutritive components citrus.

Functional Characterization of a Flavonoid Glycosyltransferase in Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)

Fruits of sweet orange (Citrus sinensis), a popular commercial Citrus species, contain high concentrations of flavonoids beneficial to human health. These fruits predominantly accumulate O-glycosylated flavonoids, in which the disaccharides [neohesperidose (rhamnosyl-α-1,2-glucose) or rutinose (rhamnosyl-α-1,6-glucose)] are linked to the flavonoid aglycones through the 3- or 7-hydroxyl sites. T...

Transcriptome analysis of a spontaneous mutant in sweet orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck] during fruit development

Bud mutations often arise in citrus. The selection of mutants is one of the most important breeding channels in citrus. However, the molecular basis of bud mutation has rarely been studied. To identify differentially expressed genes in a spontaneous sweet orange [C. sinensis (L.) Osbeck] bud mutation which causes lycopene accumulation, low citric acid, and high sucrose in fruit, suppression sub...

A proteomic analysis of the chromoplasts isolated from sweet orange fruits [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck]

Here, a comprehensive proteomic analysis of the chromoplasts purified from sweet orange using Nycodenz density gradient centrifugation is reported. A GeLC-MS/MS shotgun approach was used to identify the proteins of pooled chromoplast samples. A total of 493 proteins were identified from purified chromoplasts, of which 418 are putative plastid proteins based on in silico sequence homology and fu...

Biochar from Orange (citrus sinensis) Peels by Acid Activation for Methylene Blue Adsorption

In this work, orange (Citrus sinensis) peels biochar (OPBC) were prepared by one-step H2SO4 activation for Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of OPBC were characterized using instrumental analyses such as CHNS-O analyzer, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffract...

Citrus sinensis Annotation Project (CAP): A Comprehensive Database for Sweet Orange Genome

Citrus is one of the most important and widely grown fruit crop with global production ranking firstly among all the fruit crops in the world. Sweet orange accounts for more than half of the Citrus production both in fresh fruit and processed juice. We have sequenced the draft genome of a double-haploid sweet orange (C. sinensis cv. Valencia), and constructed the Citrus sinensis annotation proj...
